This new print management system is part of an effort to reduce wasteful printing and lessen the College's carbon footprint. It will help eliminate waste of paper and toner, and create cost savings and recovery. Charging for printing will allow Bronx Community College to provide better services to its students in the labs and library and ensure that we are able to provide proper maintenance for the printers. The printing system also provides better security in that only the student who enters their password will be allowed to pick up their printout.
A portion of the Technology Fee is used to pay for toner, printer maintenance and paper. The credits generated from this new initiative will be credited to the Technology Fee first, thereby allowing these funds to be used for other innovative projects that improve teaching and learning at Bronx Community College.
You login at a lab/library computer, select your document to print, confirm the printer location, go to the printer, swipe your BCC ID card at the access reader, collect your documents and logout. If you are only making photocopies (not printing documents off a computer) you simply swipe your card at the printer/copy machine.
Black and white double-sided is 5 cents per sheet; black and white single-sided is 7 cents per sheet; color double-sided is 20 cents per sheet; and color single-sided is 22 cents per sheet.
At the beginning of every semester, an initial amount of $35.00 will be deposited into the BCC Card Print Management Fund of every full time student via his/her BCC ID Card. (For part time students, the amount is $17.50.) After the $35.00 is depleted, students will then be able to add money to their accounts to allow them to print beyond the $35.00 of free prints. There is no "emergency" exception to this rule. If you run out of your allocation, you must add funds to your card in order to print.
You received this message because you did not insert your card in the time allowed to receive the funds. If this happens, please visit the TSC (IT Service Desk) in RBSC 308. You must present the receipt with the message to the TSC agent(s).
These are always issued by the Department of Public Safety; the ID Room is located on the main floor of Community Hall (also known as the fifth floor of Colston Hall).
If you lose your BCC ID Card, please complete a security report with the Public Safety Office in Loew Hall 505 as soon as possible. A new card will be given to you and a $10.00 replacement card fee will be charged. Your old card will be deactivated and will no longer work anywhere on campus. Please be aware that you remain responsible for card usage prior to deactivation. Falsifying, altering or misusing your own or anyone else's ID card in any way is strictly prohibited by the College.
Submit a police report or other supporting documentation to the BCC Public Safety Office and they will deactivate the fund accounts on your old card and transfer any available balances to a new card right away.
