Digital Arts Professor and Students

The Digital Arts program at BCC prepares students for the dynamic field of graphic design by providing a career-oriented education in the design and production of visual materials. This includes the design and production of advertising materials, logos, brochures, posters, promotional materials, web sites, graphics for the World Wide Web, animation, and multimedia.

Through intensive training in visual foundations and state-of-the-art technology, students gain aesthetic awareness, problem-solving skills and the technical proficiencies necessary to pursue an entry-level position in the visual communication industry. Studets work with the latest software and hardware in state-of-the-art computer labs and learn what is needed to apply for positions in graphic design, web design, computer animation, interactive multimedia, 3D graphic visualization, and much more. Also, many students choose to continue their education in a 4-year insitution.

After completing the basic art and design courses, students choose between two options: Graphic Design or Web Design. The Graphic Design Option focuses on print, publication and layout. The Web Design Option focuses on animation and web design, the most rapidly developing sector of the graphics industry.
