Excel and Achieve
BCC offers more than 35 Academic Programs to enrich your academic experience. Students can choose from a wide range of associate degree and certificate programs, ranging from nursing and nuclear medicine technology to automotive technology, media technology digital arts and criminal justice.
Degree Requirements
Each student is responsible for completing all requirements as prescribed by the College. With the exception of some degree programs, that require additional units (credits), a minimum number of 60 units (credits) are required to complete an Associate Degree. Most Certificate Programs require 30 units (credits). Click here to learn more information about Graduation Requirements.
Bronx Community College will confer a degree upon a student who has completed all College requirements towards graduation. However, a student must also be in good standing with the College in order to graduate and receive a degree. Accordingly, a student who has completed all academic requirements will not be eligible to graduate or receive a degree until any outstanding financial balance or disciplinary matter against him/her has been resolved and any disciplinary penalty completed.
Developmental Courses
Students who have not demonstrated proficiency in CUNY Skills Assessment Tests are placed into developmental reading, writing and math. Developmental courses do not fulfill degree requirements and are pre-requisites to credit-bearing courses. Examples of developmental courses are ENG 1, RDL 1 and MTH 1. Read the college catalog for specific course descriptions.
