President's Letter to Bronx Community College Graduates

Dear Graduates of 2018:

On behalf of the BCC faculty, staff, students and alumni, I extend a sincere congratulations to the Class of 2018! Commencement day is one of the most joyous times here at Bronx Community College. It is a time where the entire community celebrates you as ambassadors of BCC. We are proud of our students and all that you have accomplished to arrive at this moment.

We celebrate your many achievements this commencement season. The effects of your successes will be felt beyond the gates of our splendid campus. During your time at BCC, you have acquired new knowledge and skills, gained new experiences and grown as individuals. As you embark upon the next phase of your journey, continuing your education or beginning your career, I urge you to apply your skills and credentials with compassion, honesty, and integrity, in service to our communities and in support of others. You are well prepared to be leaders and we expect no less from you.

This milestone also marks fulfillment of a promise from the incredible faculty and staff who have inspired and challenged you to be your best self. Even when faced with obstacles, you remained committed and focused on your goal – completing your education. I have every reason to believe that the support from your families, loved ones and friends contributed to your success. Savor this accomplishment with them as you lay the foundation for great successes in the years ahead.

As you prepare to leave BCC, we welcome all of you as our newest alumni. We value our alumni and take pride in your achievements and encourage you to seek opportunities and utilize the resources available to you through the Office of Alumni Relations. We also invite you to come back and support college activities and events to make BCC a better place for the next generation of students.
