BCC Names Dr. Claudia V. Schrader New Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
“Assessment-driven” administrator will address student retention
July 2 – Bronx Community College President Carole M. Berotte Joseph announced today the appointment of Dr. Claudia V. Schrader as Bronx Community College’s new vice president for Academic Affairs and provost. “I am elated that Dr. Schrader was interested in joining BCC and am eager to collaborate with her on making BCC a premiere community college,” Dr. Berotte Joseph said of the self-described “assessment driven” administrator. “Her experiences in teaching and learning, her focus on outcomes assessment and accountability, as well as her support for faculty development and international studies make her an ideal candidate for supporting my vision for BCC. Together, with the other members of my leadership team, I look forward to a great future of strong academic leadership at BCC.”

Dr. Claudia V. Schrader
Dr. Schrader was born and raised in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and resides in the Bronx. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Africana Studies/Journalism from Rutgers University. She received a Master of Arts in Special Education and a Master of Education in Instructional Practice in Special Education from Columbia University Teachers College, where she also earned her Doctor of Education in International and Transcultural Studies.
In the same statement welcoming Dr. Claudia V. Schrader to her new position, President Berotte Joseph expressed her “deepest gratitude” to Dr. David L. Hadaller, who has served as interim vice president for Academic Affairs and provost since September 2012.
